here is a list of creatures and information that took place in greek mythology. in the roleplay, they are still alive and thriving to this day, in which is one reason why demigods and unnaturals are taught combat skills.
-do not steal. this is copyrighted to evylen & rhiannon of you're no different, and every description was written by them and they'd hate to have to report you to proboards if you do so steal (or would they?)-

C Y C L O P E S
being the children of Uranus and Gaia and also Poseidon, they are extremely large beasts whom are naturally feared from just about every species. which they rightfully should be; cyclopes are not exactly known for being "gentle giants". no, instead they'd much rather be expected to crush your skull under one of their massive feet. hybrids of gods and cyclopes are generally calmer, though not much; their tempers are hot as lava.

H E C A T O N C H E I R E S
"of all the children that were born of Gaia and Uranus, these were the most terrible, and they were hated by their own father from the first." - Hesiod, Theogony 155
Briareus, Cottus and Gyes were the three hecatoncheires born from Uranus, huge creatures who had one hundred hands and fifty heads each. the three were banned to Tartatus by their father, in which they stayed for an extremely long time; Zeus freed them because he knew that they would be allies. and so they were; the three helped to rip Cronus from his throne. they were known for loving war, sending thousands of boulders to rain upon the Titans with their strong and many hands. after the war Cottus and Gyes left to dwell at the very bottom of the ocean - where Briareus and his wife live is unknown, though Aeneas says that he ecountered them beside the Elm of False Dreams.

G I G A N T E S this is the tribe of Giants born from Gaia, the goddess of the earth. their father was either Tartaros, a bull from hell, or they were born from the blood of the castrated Uranus. they were the warriors of their mother, many dying from either being buried by sand or from being crushed by boulders. in the Trojan war they sided with the Titans, and when their side loss they slinked back to the mountains to hide.

N Y M P H S these are the beings, all beautiful females, whose lives are based around nature. they serve Gaia the earth, and are just bellow diety status - though they might live for a very long time, they are not considered as immortal. a tree nymph will live as long as her tree, as to a river nymph will live as long as their river. their parentage is unknown; some sources state that they are the daughters of the gods while others explain them as to being lovely ladies who fell into the ocean and such or buried by dirt. in this roleplay, we will stick with the second option; humans turned into nymphs. there are many different variations of nymphs, and here is the list:
AURAI — breezy nymphs DAPHNAIE — laurel tree nymphs DRYADS — tree and forest nymphs EPIMELIADS — sheep nymphs HAMADRYADS — oak tree nymphs HESPERIDES — golden apple tree nymphs HYDRIADS — water and sea nymphs LIMONIADS — meadow and flower nymphs MELIADS — ash tree and fruit tree nymphs NEREIDS — sea nymphs NAIADS — river and stream nymphs OCEANIDS — cloud and sea nymphs OREADS — mountain pine nymphs PLEIADES — star nymphs
being this site your character is allowed to be a nymph, and if you are interested in doing so, then make sure to take careful note of this: they do not have any special abilities. they might take on the slight apperance of their attached nature object and cry tears that take on such color, but other than that they are fairly average.

T Y P H O E U S Typhoeus was a monstrous, serpentine giant that battled Zeus for dominion of Mount Olympus; and as you can guess, he failed. he is a dragon that you've probably heard of since he has been in many productions; the beast with many heads; every time one of severed two more would spout out to replace it. he was birthed from Gaia as a last effort to defeat the Olympians and save her children, the Titans; the monster came close to succeeding, yet Hermes was able to save the imprisoned Zeus and Typhoeus was supposedly buried under Mount Etna.

C E R B E R U S
the most famous hell hound out there would have to be the huge Cerberus; he guards the gates of the Underworld, making sure that no one gets through who shouldn't. known for being Hercules's 12th labor, he's only been out of the Underworld once. the huge black mutt is practically Hades's pet, nailed to the floor by unbreakable chains to do his job for thousands of years to come.

S I R E N S though depicted as mermaid-like maidens, they are actually bird-like creatures who live in the meadows beside the sea, slivering into the water only to sing their dangerous song to passing sailors. in later myths they were depicted as beautiful women who much their even lovelier voices, always of course in the nude. they can be found on any bays, always ready to charm the sailors into jumping into the oceans depths just for them to drag them under.

A R G U S this one-hundred eyed giant was hera’s servant and watchman. since only a few eyes slept at a time, there were many eyes still awake that would keep watch. he was a valuable asset to hera, as well as the other 12 olympians. his greatest task to complete was to slay the serpent mother of all monsters, echidna, as she slept. argus’ last task, however, was the guard a white heifer from zeus. in reality, this white heifer was io, one of many nymphs that zeus lusted after. in order to free io, zeus had the messenger hermes bore argus’ eyes closed, before bludgeoning him with a rock. hera had argus’ eyes preserved forever in a peacock’s tail, to commemorate his faithfulness to her.
