hey awesome ynd members,
you might of been wondering, "what happens to my senior once they graduate?" great question! considering that time is coming up very soon (occ wise, sometime in late february). many, many changes will be coming to ynd to make it more adult-friendly, mostly with category changing and adding. i'll take the time to explain so that you guys are ready - if you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment.
- juniors move up to seniors, of course. we'd be really behind on 11th grade students so we'll ban upperclassmen for a good while to even out the numbers.
- while you might be thinking "once my character has graduated, they're pretty much useless and impossible to plot with!" you're thankfully wrong. as stated before, ynd is going to be going through a bunch of changes to give you more opportunities to rp your graduate. the site will no longer just be based around the school, but around demigods/unnaturals/nymphs of all ages.
- so, you might be wondering about their education after thaedeus; of course they'd have to go to college, though it wouldn't last long and you won't have to go in depth about it (such as which college or certain classes). if you decided to send them to college so that they can later on get an actual job, then you'd simply have to sign them up with a major/minor and get them an apartment on campus or dorm. ooc time, it'd probably take about two or so months for them to graduate and we’d have an announcement for that. we'll go farther into this later on.
- you might be thinking "the only other people our characters can actually have plotting with is other graduated seniors!" well, we've decided that you'll now be able to create thaedeus graduates!
- group colors will be changed; instead of having 569035860 different colors, we'll instead just have three; demigods, unnaturals, and nymphs. this doesn't include staff or the olympian accounts, of course [:
- once your senior graduates, they get to drink ichor, which is pretty much the blood of the gods. it creates a new power for demigods, so you can think of a power related to their godly parent. and for nymphs, it gives them power over their element.
- new seniors will have to gave new classes, so you'll have to repost on the class claims thread. sorry. >_>
- start thinking about what you want your graduate to major in! it all depends on what classes they took in their senior year (i know i know, unrealistic though oh well) and how much money they have saved/family wealth. of course they can get scholarships and take out loans, though someone dirt poor won't end up being a psychiatrist.
so yeah! get ready, as stated like 40895340857 times, for changes to ynd...they're going to be for the good [:
