THE OVERALL SITE FAQ
why are we only allowed to make juniors and seniors? do 9th and 10th graders actually go to the school?
all five grades attend the school, yes, and it is true that only the last two grades are open for creation. why? well, on the first version of you're no different, it seemed as though no one wanted to play anyone bellow the age of sixteen. so now we're taking bans and encouragements away, along with the two "extra" ages.
i don't believe in all of this stuff! it’s not true!
good for you. yet on this roleplay it is, and so stop being a smart-ass. mkay? mkay.
i thought aphrodite's the daughter of zeus and dione?
that is one of the theories, we're going with the other one, so please don't complain about this, really, we just prefer having penises cut off.
why on earth do all the gods weigh around 400-600 lbs? do my characters have to weigh that much too?
well, the gods are gods, so of course they weigh a ton, they weren't actually obese at all, they just... weigh a lot, we can't really explain that. and no, your characters weight is pretty much up to you, though if you want them to take after their godly parent, to average out the weight of the gods, divide their weight by about three for the four hundreds-low five hundreds and four for five-fifty and higher.
i love your site, can i be staff?
we're honored, really, but if we need staff we will come to you.
why do we have to have different accounts per character?
well, us staff feel that it helps greatly with organizational skills, and it may be harder to tell who is who, but that's the fun of it, right? if you really need to be logged into two accounts at the same time, then you can log into one here, and another here. hope this helps!
are we allowed to sex it up in the icboxes and PMs?
no to icboxing sex scenes. if we catch you doing it, you'll be banned. as for PMs? we really don't give a shit. now, if it's sexual harassment, then there will be some bans going on.
my character application got rejected! what do i do now?
well, it's fairly obvious. either sit around and wait for it to get archived, or modify the problems and we'll check it again.
so explain more about shifters.
certain demigods, if you claim it and a spot is open, can be shifters. they are able to shift into your pick of their godly parent's animals. demeter and persephone are an exception - they have no limits, pick ANY animal for them to be able to shift into. reminder: they CANNOT shift into all animals, only one. same for the other demigods who can shift into ONE of their godly parents animals/birds. they can shift on demand, yet sometimes (considering their morphing animal) they'll do it out of anger or confusion.
can one of our characters get pregnant?
of course. there's always a little fun between couples and mindless flings, right? teach you kids to use protection, haha. now, we don't want the site overridden by pregnant ladies and babies, so once we think there's too many we'll ban it c: we don't that that will happen, though, so no worries. if your character does have a child, DO NOT make an account for it. i mean, what's the point in having an account for a character who is one month old? what happens to the baby is up to you - send it up for adoption, give it to their parents, graduate and they can take it with them.
why is cronus spelt with a c, now k?
because there are two different gods/titans. the father of time, kronus, and then the evil son of uranus who ate all of his children cronus.
is this a percy jackson roleplay?
does this look like a percy jackson roleplay to you? it's not like the damn author came up with demigods. and he certainly did not come up with the unnaturals. so no, it is not.
THE UNNATURALS FAQ
so what exactly is the chemical fluid stuff that they need to drink? why do they need to? how often? what happens if they stop drinking it? where do they get it from?
think of it like this: it's like an insanely powerful energy drink. they need it because they're regular humans, their bodies made completely different from the demigods. the difference is that their normal, ungodly-like bodies are unable to sustain such abilities that they are scientifically burdened with. the liquid that they are forced to drink every morning supplies their body with the energy and power needed to sustain their abilities. if they stop drinking it, they'll simply fade away as though they have cancer, except it all happens in two days. it's practically like suicide. the fluid is supplied by the government of the U.S, imported to other countries and to the SH's family. if the SH is out of family reach then it is instead sent to wherever they say they are; which would be the school.
so, the unnaturals got their super-human abilities by being tested on. where are their parents in all of this?
well, 70% of the unnaturals were orphans, taken in from all around the world to be tested on in the U.S. the 30% are the crazy parents who a.) give their baby to be experimented on and then keep him/her if they survive or b.) just give them to the government and turn their backs. some parents claim that the government took their children from their house or when they were out and about, yet this is as known as those who claim to be abducted by aliens. most unnaturals will be adopted, around 95%.
is there any difference between the demigod's and unnatural's powers?
nope. only difference is the chemical and how the unnaturals cannot be hades/hecate/thanatos replicas.
why can't there be hades/hecate/thanatos unnaturals?
because the government hasn't even recognized them as to having abilities, other than hecate's ability to stun people by bright flashes from their eyes. so if you make an unnatural mimicking hecate, that's all they'd do. the other two are completely off the list and only open for demigods.
what does an unnatural have to have in their history?
• how their parents met • when, where, ect. they were born, if they were sent to an orphanage • how where they tested on; were they orphans or did their parents "donate" them? • the testing effects AKA their mimicked god(dess). • their school life up until 9th grade, how their (probably) adopted family and them handled it. • their first two/three years at thaedeus, how they handled the discrimination • their wishes/fears/hopes for the new school year/how they're doing so far.
DEMIGOD FAQ
why are goddesses only pregnant for three months?
well, if you've read any myths, you'd notice that a lot of the deities are born the day after their godly mother got knocked up. so, we've made it three months.
do demigods age differently from humans and the unnaturals?
nope. unless made immortal, which will probably not happen unless you ask very special permission from us by PM and your idea is sexy c:
so what should be in a demigod's history?
• how their mortal parent met their godly parent, whether it was a fling, one sided love, 7 months at most love life, ect. also include whether or not the mortal parent knew that their love was a god(dess). • whether your demigod was informed or not (probably not but it's your char's history) • their childhood up until 9th grade • their first sign of being a demigod (sudden bursts of their power showing, anger problems, grades falling, depression, any of those or all of them whatever you prefer) • how your character and their parents reacted to the thaedeus school pamphlet • their first two or three years at the school (freshmen and sophomore year, maybe junior considering whether they're a senior or junior) • how they treat the unnaturals and nymphs, if they do treat them differently at all (think of harry potter: purebloods and mudbloods) • a short recap of their current life at the school, their job, ect. also include whether or not they stay at the school over the summer or they go home
NYMPH FAQ
how do nymphs mature?
well, once they become a nymph in which the age minimum is sixteen, they age like a normal human up until they are 26 years old. after that, they abruptly stop aging. so your nymph students cannot be over the age of eighteen.
what is needed in a nymph's history?
• a normal childhood and life until age 16, 17 or 18. • explain what happened to them • did the parents except them back? did they abandon them? did your nymph go back and live wherever it's natural area is? • how did they react to the school's pamphlet? if they were in the woods, on the ocean bay, in a meadow, ect. a personal messenger from the school would of brought it to them. • if they went into the school as a junior, how was their first year? if they are going in for senior year, just put a quick little ending paragraph about what they expect/fear/hope for the year.
so how exactly do nymphs become nymphs? what are they?
so let's say that there is a pretty redhead walking along the river, dipping her dainty foot into the water and leaning forward to watch the fish dash about. suddenly, her foot breaks through a thin cliff of dirt and she falls right into the river! as she's thrashing about, drowning to death as water fills her lungs there is a god pondering above -probably zeus or poseidon, one of those women-friendly gods- and watching the scene unfold. deciding that such beauty should not be put to waste, he uses this godly powers to save her. and so she dies, her human body pulled deep under from looking eyes as she is carried on the undercurrent to a free river. she could be flowing on the river for days or weeks until her body is finally exposed to an unclaimed river, stream, or pond - that is when the magic unfolds. the now nymph is brought to life, her waterlogged skin turning pale and slippery, her red locks caught in sticks, her once dull blue eyes now impossibly bright periwinkle. and that is when, once again, another naiad (river nymph) is created. "well, my nymph is a tree nymph - how exactly are they made?" same process; they are instead buried alive or they suffocate on dirt/leaves/ect. then their body connects to whatever tree is around, becoming a dryad or any other tree nymph. that practically sums it up: beautiful maidens of nature who are just bellow deity status, living as long as their tree, river, ect. i am very aware that they are usually the children of gods and such, yet in this roleplay they are not. here is the list of different nymphs and how they become to such status. note: all nymphs have pale skin that does not scar and tattoo ink will disappear within one day.
so what is an aurai?
these are referred to as "breezy" nymphs. how they become nymphs and what do they claim? they become a nymph by suffocating due to lack of oxygen when, modernly, on a plane (usually on a 2 person little plane) and the glass breaks or there was a crash. this is the same way that star nymphs are created, so there's an equal chance for your character to become either. they connect to a cloud - or, not really a cloud, but a single atom of h2o within the cloud. they can last from a day to 500 years - depends on how lucky you are. the color of their eyes are always pale blue, from aqua to nearing purple.
dryads?
tree nymphs; they can claim any tree nearest to their suffocation of dirt spot except for ash, fruit, apple and oak trees. and, well, they are created from chocking on dirt/leaves/ect. their eyes range from any hues of green, hazel, and brown.
hamadryads?
same thing as dryads, yet they must be connected to an oak tree. eyes range from hues of brown to green.
hesperides?
apple tree nymphs, same thing as dryads, yet of course they must of claimed an apple tree. ranges from green, red, and amber with everything in between.
meliads?
ash tree nymphs, same as dryads blah blah blah. eyes range from cherry-brown to green.
hydriads?
created by drowning in a pond or lake, they live as long as their body of water, which could be a very long time or a very short time. ponds are much easier to dry up - lakes? not so much. any cool colors would be fine for eye color.
limoniads?
meadow nymphs, created the same way as dryads - yet they connect to a whole meadow. they die once every flower and every piece of grass is dead; in this case, they get weaker over the cold months. their eyes can be all the way from green to pink, they just have to be light.
nereids?
created by drowning in an ocean or sea - they can claim any ocean animal, usaully being a sea turtle. their eyes can be any murky cool color.
lampades?
underworld nymphs who serve hecate, the goddess. a few come above the surface and couple of those few are part of the school. created by when a beautiful maiden who shouldn't be in the Underworld tries anyway, or does it by accident. they connect to hellhounds, though must go to the Underworld to see them. their eyes are always dark with glowing centers, a bit creepy - the colors range from red to green. so just about any color. their skin is almost white - paler than any other nymph type.
naiads?
river and stream nymphs, whom i showed an example of. they drown in a river or stream and the claim such a body of water, living as long it does.
oreads?
mountain nymphs who are created the same way as dryads, except they connect to a mountain. there are many of this type, even more than dryads and naiads. their eye color rangers from dark greens to browns.
pleiades?
star nymphs that are created the same way as breezy nymphs. they connect to a single star, which can last for thousands of thousands of years or it could die tomorrow. their eyes range from yellow to blue, usually light but sometimes you will find richer, darker colors.
