HAIR COLOR/STYLEHolly's hair is a deep reddish-brown that she keeps cut just past her shoulders. It is naturally wavy, but she is more likely to leave it that way, or straighten it rather than curl it.
EYE COLORWith wide eyes and dark lashes, Holly's eyes really stand out with their vibrant turqoise color. Most of the time they are green, but in bright enough light they appear somewhat blue.
BODY TYPE
She's naturally slim, but not really athletic in a way that comes across as a lot of muscle definition. She is a shorter than average 5'3, but not stocky. Not particularly curvy, she has narrow shoulders and thin legs and hips that need the help of tighter clothing to be more pronounced. On her left ankle she has a thin scar given when she took a fall in a creek while back in her hometown. The physical traces of her time in the experimentation lab are a thick white scar across the crook of her elbow, and another similar one on the palm of her left hand. These are the two things that are likely to cause her discomfort about her looks.
FACIAL FEATURES
Holly has a softly shaped face, round but with a fairly sharp chin. Her nose might appear large on another's face, but for her it fits with her soft features. She has a small mouth with more highly defined cheeks when she smiles and level brows.
CLOTHING STYLEThe extent of Holly's make-up is usually mascara, eye-liner, and a bit of lip-gloss. She's the type of girl who can get away with a large wrinkled blouse over a small cami. She tends to wear vibrant shirts layered over something more subtle in the summer, with hoodies and a few detailed coats for winter. She prefers skinny jeans over shorts, but it doesn't bother her to show off her legs.

ADVANTAGESstrengths, personality only, at least four.
Reckless - Some call it bravery, others stupidity. For Holly its a desire to make a decision and get over it before she has time for regrets. Only her most closely guarded issues get time spent on them.
Observant - She is physically forced to be around the other students, but is emotionally on the outs. This means she has the time to watch them carefully, though it doesn't always help her opinion.
Dedicated - Some people call it clingy, but when Holly loves something, she doesn't let it go unless given a strong reason.
Stubborn - Can be both a strength and a weakness for her. She doesn't back down when its something she stands for, but also when she's in denial. It's a shaky sort of stubborness, too; another defence mechanism to help her hold on to what she considers to be the 'normal' world.
DISADVANTAGESweaknesses, personality only, at least four.
Reckless - Jump first, ask questions later. She's quick to make assumptions, and even more quick with her defences.
Insecure - It isn't the insecurity of so many other girls- her looks come very far down the list of things to worry about. Instead she worries that the experiments will do more than give her powers, like make her dangerous.
Lonely - She is human. She gets lonely...a lot actually. She's just better at squashing the feeling than she used to be, but she can't help feeling jealous when she sees the cliques at school, and the relationships that she both loves and hates.
Pessimistic - She didn't start out that way. She was a happy kid, once, but the whole tampering-with-genetics-and-gods thing freaked her out. She can't help feeling like she's fairly insignificant.
PERSONALITYHolly wasn't ever interested in standing out from a crowd. She did enough of that already with her status as an adopted child, and wasn't eager to give others more reasons to treat her differently at her highschool. Based on looks and vague first impressions, Holly comes across as the kind of girl who gets lumped in with the popular kids. Its far from the truth however- there was just something about that girl that the other kids wanted to avoid
When it comes to her powers, Holly can't help feeling resentment. Like many other students, they prevented her from creating relationships because of their unstable nature. As meek as her life at her old school was, she would have chosen it over Thaedeus any day. At Thaedeus, it seems that the weird thrive, and she just doesn't want to be a part of it.
At least back home she was friendly, despite the frequent rejections. When her powers really came into play, and she had to move away from the few friends she had, she was thust into a new role. As an unnatural she was at the bottom of the pecking order- people didn't just reject her, they went out of their way to make her unwanted. Lucky for Holly she had enough experience to have a thicker skin, and learn to ignore any bullying, even if it tried her patience to the breaking point. It still had an effect though- she became increasingly anti-social in trying to avoid the other students, to the point that she was downright rude to mask her fear of them. Other unnaturals just weren't worth the time- they were all too bizarre anyway. Demi-gods were a definite no-go, considering the torment she was likely to suffer at their hands. Nymphs were okay...if it wasn't for the sheer awkwardness of their existence. What was she supposed to say to someone who had died?
In short, Holly tries her best to appear tougher than she really is. A comfortable upbringing never prepared her to act like a badass, but she attempts to anyway. Only those close to her know how uncomfortable she is with the whole act, and how she lives in fear that someday she'll really bear the brunt of some other student's anger...and powers. Had she made friends at Thaedeus, they would have found her to be far more open, determined to do right by them, and loyal to the last.- - - you wonder what the future will bring - - -

WEALTH STATUSOkay, so she's no millionaire, but her lifestyle costs a fair bit back home- her family lives comfortably in the mid-to-upper-class range.
HISTORYHolly knew she was different from the start, far before her powers kicked in. She was only a baby when she was adopted, but was taken in by an older couple who had the resources to make her life a dream. Until she was six years old, Holly was outgoing, adventurous, and the delight of her parents, who had adopted when they found out they were unable to have a child of their own. They didn't talk about her adoption around the girl- she looked at least a little similar to Maggie as a baby.
Now, Maggie and Chester were given very few details of where Holly came from. They were told that she had undergone several hospital visits due to an illness that she developed at a few months of age, before arriving at the orphanage. She would need regular medication for that illness. The hospital had even less information about the young man who dropped her off there. The adoption agency was unaware of the darker nature of the whole process. The little baby girl was abandoned at four months, an exchange to a testing facility that could have passed as a hospital...for supernaturals. Of course, this whole other world was carefully guarded. The unassuming couple could never have predicted the outcome they were left with. They would have done a lot of things differently.
As Holly entered grade school, the daughter of the older parents with the big house on the end of the street, she was surprised to find that not everyone took to her as easily as her parents. It was like she had some sort of repulsive aura; the other kids weren't mean, but she was never the first choice to hang out with. The next seven years passed much like this. Holly was just there, a sort of sweet but inexplicably strange girl. At least the fact that her parents had money was enough of an attraction for others to seek her out from time to time.
It was close to middle school that she really found a group to attach herself to. There was no stereotype to fit her friends in, like goth or scene or prep. They were a motley assortment of good and bad, neither here nor there. There was Justine, a snobbish girl who invited herself over whenever it was hot enough to need Holly's pool. Megan, a mild mannered redhead and her sister Taya. Luke was really into running, and had the most obvious crush on Taya. Finally there was Cal, the only one she considered to be her best friend. Somehow they grew closer than the others- he was daring, and drew her out of the shyness she had developed throughout grade school. He was kind though, hardly a bad influence, but together they were the rabble-rousers of the group; which isn't saying much for rich kids, but they were happy enough.
During grade eight, Cal was there through the thick and the thin. For Holly, that meant the moodswings that came with her now emerging powers. One moment she was fine, and the next, usually when she felt the spark of jealousy that meant Cal was around someone else, she would snap and chew him out. She couldn't help it, and it disturbed her, but somehow he stuck by her. By that point, her powers had not manifested into anything more than the occasionnal shock from her fingertips, though she found a way to deny that the spark was anything but normal static. That changed when not only did a flyer arrive, but with an accompanying messenger.
Thaedeus. A place for people like her. People like her? S-she was normal, and happy. Apparently her status as an adopted child with no history waranted a personal visit from a school staff member- a school that she was reluctant to admit existed. The only thing that changed her mind, and made her believe, was finding out that she was adopted. As she grew older, she had seen fewer resemblances between her and her parents, but had never considered...not ever...She couldn't help being upset. She didn't hate them; they would always be her parents, but she needed time to take it in. And as long as she was doing that, why not jump right into this mythical world that she was afraid was all a joke. By August she was on a train to Seattle with her parent's tentative best wishes, feeling a piece of her go with them. She chose a new last name in honor of the occasion, and felt both satisfied and hurt by the change- it was the beginning of a new life, even if she wished to go back to before she found out about the school. And Cal...she hadn't told him anything. All he got in return for his hours of care and worrying was a letter about how she was heading to a boarding school for some sort of scholarship. She missed him bitterly, but it was better this way, to not let him be involved. He wasn't a freak like her.
When she arrived at the school, she expected to feel at home with other kids wondering about their heritage, with the sort of upbringing she had. It was far from it. Some of them were physically altered, or emotionally charged by a godly parent's genes. Some came from horrible backgrounds, and others were too high and mighty for their own good. She had not been warned about the division between Unnaturals and Demi-gods. The first two and a half years were hell; she was like a whole other person, contained in her own little unhappy world. Only visits to the city kept her sane, where she walked with all the regular humans wandering the streets. It was even harder to fit in here than back home, and she yearned to be back there with Cal, who always knew what to do.
But that just wasn't possible. Cal was part of another life. She was Holly Rivers, named for a favourite haunt of her's back in her hometown. If she gritted her teeth and kept her head down, she would survive this, and go back there one day. She just had to ignore that little voice that said nobody would be waiting for her on the other side.
Two years passed. The first summer, she didn't return home, still a little sore from her parent's lies, and wary of seeing her friends. The next summer, she came home for about a month, but by then she wasn't sure if she could face her other life. She stayed inside, until she eventually returned to Seattle, holding a secret close by. There had been a new development for Unnaturals. Ichor. It could cure them, take away their powers- would she take it? With the choice suddenly presented in front of her, Holly found herself reluctant. In the past two years, she had shown very little promise in the power department. She was better at being able to summon up a shock, and had once made it drizzle, and that was it. But suddenly, she was scared to take the jump. She didn't want to be a part of the gods' world, but she didn't know if she had what it took to fit back in where she had left off. With the school year approaching, she has decided to put off the decision for a while still, to be sure of what she wants.- - - as you worry about the sins of your past - - -
