it was amazing, how much more simple life was without relationships; of course, robert occasionally found himself missing the bond, though overall he preferred being a free man. he was the sort of person to be easily stressed, and the audrey situation didn't exactly ease him any. the whole thing had confused the demigod, between her having something for henry then having something for him. robert just honestly couldn't take it, so he backed away quietly. it was difficult keeping up with her now, considering he'd canceled his phone plan due to money issues and his lack of computer. he honestly didn't want to completely forgot about her, banish the girl he'd almost loved from his memory; however, he also didn't want to bring back feelings by meeting up with her again. honestly, it was a mess on that spectrum of things.
however, when he wasn't thinking about how he really should try and talk to audrey again, he was fine. robert was thoroughly enjoying his photography class, even if he knew it'd get him no where. honestly, he couldn't see himself taking family portraits or school photos; his ideal dream would to be just to drift around, taking pictures of things that actually required passion. but money was always an issue. though for the moment, robert was fine with just taking life slow and for the mean time ignoring the important decisions.
he was able to keep up a steady job - two, actually. it was enough to get by with rent and school, though not much more. though it was fine, really; robert was used to living life without luxury. as long as he had his 7d and multiple lenses, he was good to go.
robert contemplated most of this as he stood almost directly outside circa, waiting for the public bus. it was maybe ten thirty or so on a thursday night - he had to work starbucks mid day then he had class at seven, so he always took the final circa shifts. robert glanced around subconsciously before slipping out a cigarette from his pack of skyline and pressed it to his lips. he took out his tiny black lighter and lit it, feeling like one guilty fuck the whole time. he inhaled then let out the toxic gas in one deep sigh, turned slightly diagonal so that the smoke wouldn't hit him - for as long as possible, he'd try to not smell like shit. if his mother knew - oh god. it'd rise hell, literally. but there was nothing quite like nicotine, robert had learned; a working stress reliever every time. he was in denial with how addicted he was - one day without a smoke left him sensitive and cranky, plagued by nagging headaches.
he took a couple more drags before nubbing it out on the base of his shoe. as he was doing so, he heard the gravel crunch and he glanced over his shoulder. a girl from work was walking over, either heading in the direction of the parking lot or sidewalk. she was too pretty to be walking around late, though it didn't matter anyway - it's not like robert had a car to offer to drive her. she probably had one and was just going the parking lot. yeah. he hastily shoved the cigarette butt into his pocket. she probably wasn't going to stop, so robert was ready to just do a little "hey" as she walked by.

evana had just got done working the final circa shift, it hadn't been a rough shift but it had been busy. she loved working at circa, and it paid enough for a girl who didn't have to pay rent. it was summer so she stayed at austin's house, but sometimes staying at your brothers house wasn't always the best thing so she'd switch every once and a while. of course, thaedeus had that curfew, which she almost always never stuck too. especially since her job ended around that time. it would be easier to make curfew if she had a car, but alex had said that if she wasn't paying for anything besides the extra stuff then she could save up and buy herself a car. she was used to it by now; walking or riding the bus. she wasn't even sure if she wanted a car. when would she really use it when summer was over? at the moment, she really didn't care for one; and that was good too seeing as she was far from having enough money for one.
she looked ahead of her, at the bus stop and saw a guy she worked with. it was hard to tell who he was, until she got closer. he was tall, which led her to believe it was robert. the quiet guy at circa, he was cute; but for some reason he appeared to her as the kind that didn't want a girl. evana gave a small smile as she got closer and eventually stopped a few feet away from him. guess she had a waiting partner for the bus. for one who walked most places or waited for either the bus or her brother; evana was impatient. it was often she'd sing to herself out of boredom when waiting for something or someone.
she looked over and up at him, "hey,... robert right? i'm evana." she greeted, before looking around. sometimes she hated her name, wondering whether she should have people call her by a cooler nickname. but it was her name, and justice really didn't fit her any better then evana did. "so i guess you're waiting on the bus as well?... i get just a bit impatient when waiting and having company will do me some good." she laughed and gave another small smile.
she really hadn't decided whether she was going over to austin's right away or not. she really wasn't dressed to party but then again, she could always figure something out. there was also the fact that it was thursday. not many awesome parties went on; on a thursday. maybe she'd get off at the park, and call one of her friends to come join her. though, it seemed as if it was going to be a go with the flow kind of night.
it was dark, even with the street lights. and it was also kind of bare, like everyone was afraid to be out alone at ten-thirty. she had never really been the one to get scared walking down a dark alley alone. if she got mugged or anything like that, she knew some defense moves. if it happens, it happens. alex always said that she was the most careless person he knew when it came to safety. he was probably right.
she loved her brother, and though she would never truly admit it. he was basically the only close relationship she would allow herself to have with a guy. she had commitment issues like nobody's business, and never truly stuck with a guy. she didn't like breaking hearts though, so she went with guys who looked like they didn't want a relationship either. she saw nothing wrong with that. she was in high school; as long as grades were up. she was free to do whatever the fuck she wanted right?

instead of walking by, she stopped. "hey,... robert right? i'm evana." she said, looking sideways at him with a friendly smile. she had the prettiest green eyes, vibrant even under the street light. never a good thing, thinking things like that when you're trying to be single for once. "yeah, nice to meet you. you're pretty new, right?" he asked. she responded then glanced around. "so i guess you're waiting on the bus as well?... i get just a bit impatient when waiting and having company will do me some good." evana said with a soft laugh and smile. he laughed lightly, repeatedly throwing glances at her. she was really pretty, he'd never really noticed before. "i've gotten used to waiting for buses. not having a car sort of makes it a must." robert chuckled.
there was something different about her. she seemed maybe seventeen, eighteen - young enough to go to thaedeus. her eyes were unusual, not just pretty. it didn't take him long to realize that she was a nymph; he'd had a personal experience with one back in junior year who'd also had stunning eyes. unrealistic, really. "so do you go to thaedeus? or gone." robert asked, carefully care free. for all he knew, he was completely wrong and was talking with any other human girl. which would probably make life easier, humans seemed to be less dramatic than all of the mythological females he'd dated.

"i've gotten used to waiting for buses. not having a car sort of makes it a must."
she laughed, and looked up at him. she wondered why she hadn't seen him before but it donned on her that before tonight; austin had always picked her up. but she was tired of that and would probably be riding the bus often now. they could be bus buddies, she joked but meeting his gaze... she could possibly see them getting along. of course, at the moment she knew nothing about him besides that he worked with her. a small smile took over her and she laughed again before speaking. "oh so you have no car? well, we should start a club as i don't have one either. my brother usually picks me up but that gets boring after a while."
the more she glanced at robert, the more her suspicions changed. surely he had a girl; he was too gorgeous not to. or maybe, it was that he didn't want one. not that they didn't want him. though she was going off guesses; he could be deeply in love with someone. how would she know? her guesses could be totally off.
"so do you go to thaedeus? or gone."
ah, so there it was. how did everyone in seattle around her age have to be from thaedeus? of course, she didn't really mind; it was just funny. she could bet that most of the people at circa, were thaedeus students at one time. she knew a few different kids that worked at different places that were demi-gods and unnaturals. oh and nymphs. she wasn't positive he had ever gone but surely he didn't go there now; because she would know him. maybe he had been there once, there was really only one way to ask. "well, i go there now. one last year left; which i find exciting. what about you? go there now or used to? ...or maybe, possibly not at all."

"oh so you have no car? well, we should start a club as i don't have one either. my brother usually picks me up but that gets boring after a while." robert chuckled, a genuine smile playing across his face. "money is an issue for everyone it seems." especially at their age. up until he was happy in a house he'd be scrambling to make money for his necessities. the topic of whether or not he could afford this or that was almost constantly on his mind.
then he popped the thaedeus question, which she responded "well, i go there now. one last year left; which i find exciting. what about you? go there now or used to? ...or maybe, possibly not at all." she probably was a nymph, then. "i graduated last june." robert explained, though didn't go much farther. he'd always been sensitive about talking mythogical heritage, since day one. honestly, robert was embarrassed about being the son of hades. the devil of greek myths. as far as he was concerned, he was the antichrist. "so you're fairly new, right? to circa, i mean." he asked, trying to steer the subject in a different direction.

"i graduated last june."
She let a small grin take over, she could see how he was too old to be going there now but how he wasn't too far off. He didn't seem too familiar if she thought back in her first year but she hadn't been there long, and when she had been there; the least of her worries were making senior friends. She was fixing to ask what he was doing now, whether he was going to uni or just going out into the world but her phone buzzed. She pulled her purse off her shoulder and reached into the side pocket. She returned her purse back to her shoulder and looked at her phone. It was just a text from one of her friends, reminding her of their plans this weekend.
She quickly looked up at Robert who right after shot out another question. "so you're fairly new, right? to circa, i mean." she nodded in response, glancing down at her phone and then back at him." Yeah, I believe I replaced a girl named Audrey after she quit, but I don't see how it's replacing...I'm on totally different shifts then she was. Or so they've told me." Evana didn't know that Robert knew Audrey, or their little story but she knew he had to have remembered her a bit. Apparently she was there a while; of course all her sources were from the two gossips of the staff. They never shut up when it came to gossiping, at least they did when they were talking to customers or that would be bad.
