"-totally predictable!" A voice rang out as the glass doors to the theater opened, sharpening the light that fell on the grimy sidewalk. Out walked a tall young man, dark hair just barely falling into darker eyes. He wore jeans and a battered leather coat, a plastic cup still a little bit full of cola clutched in his right hand, while his left dug into one of his pockets, searching for his cellphone.
Flicking the back-light on to check the time, he glanced up at the road just past the parking lot, squinting into the gathering darkness. "It's only eight, we've got some time to kill before curfew," He gave the word a twist, clearly teasing as he turned to his companion, a younger girl standing next to him. He grinned momentarily, before setting off through the parked cars, headed for the bus stop. He had work to go to soon, but being late wasn't much of an issue; Starbucks was hardly a hot-spot at night. For the girl, however, he figured she ought to be home by ten, if she didn't want to be interrogated by the dorm supervisors that laid down the law at Thaedeus. He frowned; it wasn't that long ago that he'd lived there too, and had more than enough opportunities to get into trouble.
When they reached the stop, he once again fished in his pocket for some spare change; with all the running he did, he didn't normally have a reason to get a bus pass, so cash it was. He'd pay for her too- Aria had bought the food, after all.
He looked over at her again, one corner of his mouth hitched up in a smile as they waited. This should have been weird...really weird. It wasn't more than a month since he had broken things off with his girlfriend, and even less time that he had been in town. Yet somehow he had managed to befriend a girl from the school for supernaturals that he had just graduated from. The universe worked in mysterious ways. And it wasn't as if this was a date, either. At least he hoped he had made that clear, even if he wasn't sure why; if he and Scarlet were over, then he was free to do as he pleased, but it felt somehow disrespectful, when he still owed her an apology, and an explanation for why he had left in the first place. That was where Aria came in.
She was fun. She made him laugh, and she was easy to talk to. Sure, he sometimes caught himself wondering what going down that road would be like, or he might look at her and see a pretty face, but it was harmless. So, no, it wasn't a date, he assured himself contentedly as the bus pulled up. He motioned her forward, following to wherever she chose to sit.

Aria laughed, as she walked out behind John from the movie theatres. The movie had been so totally predictable it was unreal. The moment the movie really got into things, she knew both her and John already knew the ending. She walked beside him, with some room inbetween the two of them. She smiled, looking up at him before pushing her reddish brown colored hair out of her face. The young girl was wearing jeans, b&w converse, and a tank top with a short sweater shirt over it.
She elbowed him when he joked about her "curfew" asd she answered. "Shuuush, ... it's not a curfew...it's more like a suggested, legal, inforced, ...mandatory; yeah,.... it's a curfew." They were both refering to Thaedeus which she was still attending, though it was still summer, she was to be a senior. And John had just graduated not too long ago, she remembered him vaguely when the graduation ceremony had taken place. Though she hadn't stayed long... she had never had many senior friends. It was hard to make friends that you never have class with or hardly see. It seemed John and Aria had no problem at that though. She was always a lover for Starbucks and it came apparent that he worked late night shifts. So after a weeks worth of stopping by each night, Aria and John had it off quite well, but just as friends.
It was obvious, she could tell it was to him as well, that the whole thing should be awkward or at least weird but it really wasn't. Or she didn't think it was. They got along good together, and it's always good to have someone who you get along with really well. John was funny and amusing, and overall made for good company. Though, this was no where near a date. She knew he didn't feel that way and Aria didn't really either. She was cool with being friends, and that was good for both of them.
The bus pulled up, and he motioned for her to get in first. "Here we go.." she joked as she walked up the steps. She walked ahead, going to pick out a seat while he paid. She wouldn't of minded paying but it seemed he had decided he would; and she wasn't going to agrue over free bus money. She smiled before picking a seat towards the back, of course Aria taking the window seat. She liked being able to look out at the people as she passed them and sitting in the back allowed her to get a view of all the other passengers. Some strange or even interesting people road the bus at night.
When John joined her, she scooted over and brought her knees to her chest; her arms wrapping around her legs to keep them in that position. "So...we have two hours, besides from me actually getting there, where are we going till then?" She turned to him, looking up a bit as he was taller even when sitting down. A grin hit her face as she leaned against the bus wall, her head turning and laying against the bus window. Probably the park, which they both liked going to at night. When she thought of parks at night, she'd think of creepy people walking around... a few normal families, and a few hobos. But the whole idea of the park being creepy yet mystic at night, just...appealed to her.
notes; it's my first post with her so, yeah, sorry it sucks. also her outfit looks like this! She changes hair often so it looks like this! Lol. You can say i'm a bit full of muse xDD

Jon followed her to the back of the bus, sitting down heavily next to her. He leaned his arms on the back of the chair just ahead, tilted forward to look at her better, one brow raised. He could almost read her own answer in her face, and he smiled slightly, taking his time. "Hmm...well, there's always the park, but wouldn't you rather ride the bus for the whole route?" He tapped a finger against his chin before snorting and reclining in his seat. "Nah, we'll go to the park. I know you like the stars." He pursed his lips, looking up at the roof of the bus and raising a hand to gesture about, as if they could see them already. He wasn't really mocking her; as a mimic of Erebos, it wasn't surprising that he too enjoyed the park at night. Mostly because he rarely ran the risk of having his thoughts disturbed. When you were able to half-melt into shadows (Not as powerfully as a son of the god, of course), there were a lot of places you could go without being harassed by squatters and party-goers.
Looking up at the little map displayed near the top of the bus, Jon squinted at the labels, pushing his hair out of his face. "Looks like Westcrest is on the way."
----
They talked about the movie during the ride; it had been bad enough to provide endless opportunities for discussion, but as they approached their stop, they drifted away from the topic.
Hopping off the bus into darkness, the nearest lamp a couple hundred meters away near the park entrance, Jon smiled to himself, suddenly absorbed in his own thoughts. They drifted slowly between memories of the place, and the exciting thrill of having the huge space to himself. It was only recently that he'd gotten a handle on his powers, but it made him feel more relaxed, knowing that he had an advantage should an obstacle arise.
"C'mon, we'll take that bench there," He pointed ahead, to one of the picnic tables that sat just outside of the flood of the lamps that rose along the path. Without the glare, they would have a clear view of the sky. The young man's dark eyes were searching the entrance, alert, but somewhat distracted. It felt like so long ago that he and Scarlet had ended up here, in those early days of their relationship. But now that he thought about it, he realized that those were really the only stages that they experienced. Early ones full of firsts and little squabbles, as they learned to trust one another, and grew more emotionally detached.
Without thinking, a frown on his face, Jon absently took Aria's hand, towing her toward the table he had indicated, gaze still flicking around the clearing. It took him a moment to realize how strange it felt, her smaller, warmer hand tucked in his own, and he instantly released her as he hopped up to sit on the bench. This was what he got for thinking of his ex-girlfriend: pangs of loss that felt like an itch he couldn't scratch. Shaking his head, he lay back on the top of the table, forcing a smile, patting the spot next to him.

Aria followed Jon as he directed them to the bench they'd sit at. It was funny how without even telling him, he knew she had wanted to go to the park. She tended to repeat things at time so he had probably heard her saying she liked that place about a gazillion times. She skipped once, to catch up with him, her small body now next to his tall one. She looked down at the ground as she walked before feeling a large, warm hand slide into her. She looked over at Jon before looking down at his hand in hers. She let her gaze wander around so it wouldn't seem like she had an issue with him holding her hand. She knew that it didn't mean anything, and really she didn't see anything wrong with him holding her hand just to lead her to a bench. Sure, usually guys did that to their girlfriends but she knew Jon had memories of Scarlet here. Maybe he was just feeling alone. She had those feelings all the time, it was human. She watched as his hand slipped out of her hand and he hopped up on the bench, she already stepping up on the seat and joining him on the top of the table. She laid back all the way, her gaze going to the stars in the sky.
She looked over at Jon, grinning, before sighing and returning her gaze to the stars. "You'd think I'd know all the constellations by now but I've never really been able to remember them. I just admire them." The silence had been broken, usually silence between the two of them was just plain awkward. Their best time was when they were both being sarcastic or just chatting away. She wasn't sure if Jon would be acting like that at the moment though. He looked like he was distracted. "I think it's a bit creepy but I love the fact that the park is mysterious at night. It's like the scary movies... a girl is walking down the side walk and then she's kidnapped. It's kind of thrilling... in a really pathetic way. .... Not that I want to get kidnapped anyway."
Aria laughed, before propping herself up on her elbows. Her hair falling off her shoulders and hanging behind her back. She let out a huge sigh and a small laugh. It was no where near close to 10 which was when she had to go back to Thaedeus. Jon made fun of her for that because she followed the rules quite often. It was funny.
She wondered what she'd do when she graduated seeing as she was no way going home. She wasn't even sure she would stay in Seattle. Not really too much keeping her here when school would end. She had a few friends she'd miss and that was about it. She didn't know exactly what she wanted to do either. Possibly a veterinarian but eight years of college seemed like way too much to her. She could only stay a school pet for so long before cracking.
She looked over at Jon grinning before letting off a small frown. "Are your parents supportive at all? Like I mean, are you going to visit them during this summer?" She looked around before adding another question. "I think I better start making a plan of what to do because at the moment, when I graduate I'll be doing nothing but I guess that's just the graduation jitters. I need to calm down on that subject, it's been on my mind a lot lately." She did need to calm down, she could not shake that thought at all anymore.

Jon laughed quietly as she explained what drew her to the park. Being kidnapped didn't exactly sound like a good time to him, but Aria was quirky like that. She was sheltered enough to get away with saying that sort of thing- which he didn't mind. She'd be no fun if she was bleak and serious like...well, like him. The other him anyway.
His head resting on the cool wood of the bench, he raised his brows, tilting his face until he could look over at her again, returning her smile, patiently waiting for her to stop her worrying.
"Are your parents supportive at all? Like I mean, are you going to visit them during this summer?"
His eyes narrowed, brows snapping down severely as he looked away at the dark sky, mouth twisted slightly. Taking a deep breath, his voice sounded oddly cold, barely waiting until she had finished speaking to open his mouth. "I visited them already. And now I'm back." His tone was clipped, discouraging further comment. Aria knew about Scarlet, and his life at Thaedeus-after all, the school wasn't that big. His private life, however, was still a sore subject, and off limits, considering the recent developments.
"What do you like to do? What hobbies would you want to pursue?" He sounded falsely cheering, steering the conversation toward her instead. "Sorry, but unless you want to work on a space station, I think you're out of luck."

Aria could tell that through all her babbling, her curiosity had gone a bit too far. She could feel the tension in the air when she asked Jon about his parents, she now knew it was a bad subject to even ask about. She respected that and besides, her and Jon's relationship worked because they were pals. Really, she found pals to define them the best because they got along best when it was more... less serious. They could do serious, sure, but she'd realized the parents subject was one he didn't want to address. And that was okay.
She hadn't really paid attention to him trying help her out. She was too busy trying to change the subject that was on her mind, she didn't want an awkward night. Not really, anyways. Already she was blocking the issue out of her mind and she took a deep breath. She sat up, extending her arm out and pulling a hair band off her wrist, reaching her hands behind her head and pulling her hair in a messy bun. After that was done, she swept her bangs out of her face before laying back down against the wood. She turned her head to Jon, exchanging a small smile.
"Yeah, Okay. I'm done being a serious worry-wart. " she laughed returning to the Aria that he knew. "And I kind of didn't register what you said a minute ago, so I wouldn't be able to continue the conversation. "
She laughed again before she looked up at the sky. Sitting on the bench was gonna get boring really quick if she and Jon couldn't figure out a good conversation. She turned her gaze to him again and sighed. "Okay, what now? We could go walk in the woods and find some hobo, and put that kidnapping thing to the test. Sounds fun right?" She sounded silly, and you could hear the sarcasm in her voice.
OOC: they need something to happen lol, go crazy and give them something to do haha.

His expression turned sour as he stared up at the sky, knowing that he had been a bit harsh. He really had to get a handle on that sort of thing.
When she mentioned that she hadn't heard his question, he waved the topic lazily away, letting them sit in silence awhile longer. He didn't like prolonging awkwardness, but he didn't mind a bit of quiet while he gathered his thoughts.
"Okay, what now? We could go walk in the woods and find some hobo, and put that kidnapping thing to the test. Sounds fun right?"
It was obvious that she was joking around, but he still propped himself up, nodding. "I'm up for it if you are," He suddenly grinned, hopping off the bench again. "Let's find out what sort of stuff happens out here at night." He tilted his head, one brow raised, challenging her to back out of her bluff. Turning, to looked at the line of trees, quietly musing to himself what it would be like to have Erebos' other powers- like being able to melt away into shadows. Not that it really mattered, when most people didn't take notice of the guy in the dark clothes anyway.
Jon glanced back at Aria one more time. "C'mon, time's wasting..." He taunted, before turning and walking swiftly away into the darkness, knowing she would probably follow rather than sit alone on the bench.
As he distanced himself from the lamplight, he had to wait for his eyes to adjust as he made his way for the treeline. Squinting in past the blackened trunks, he waited for footsteps to join his own...
(hurhurhur let's find them something in the forest :B)
