While Paul chattered away, he was as oblivious to her dwindling attention as she was to him actually speaking. When he finally glanced over, she nodded, mentioning her mother. He stilled for a moment, gazing soberly back at her, but she seemed to quickly recover, and smiled. "Well, I don't doubt that you 'charmed' me," He rolled his eyes as he made little air quotes. "But you know, my parents are pretty chill, they'll love-" Aurelia suddenly grabbed him by the feet and hoisted them up onto the bed. He had no choice but to flop back and let her snuggle against him- not that he minded in the least.
Taking her abuse, and criticism when it came to his dating talents, he grinned back at her in the mirror before she flipped onto her stomach so that they were face to face.
"You going to tell me what happened with you and Chelsea, too? Or shall that remain a secret for all of eternity?"
He smiled rather vacantly, the arm that she had previously stretched out now leaning against her shoulder while he traced a small circle between her shoulder blades. Slowly a little crease appeared between his brows, but he smiled crookedly, blue eyes searching her expression. "You really want to talk about that right now?" He sounded doubtful, but was happy enough to oblige anyway, though he felt it was a bit odd under the circumstances.
"There's not much to tell- I can basically sum it up in that she wasn't happy to hear to hear what I had to say. Now," He shifted a little, loosening his bow tie with his free hand. "If it's details you want, well, I called her up the day after you brought me back to your place. I started to explain to her that distance wasn't working out for us, but she beat me to the confession and pretty much guessed that something had happened." His face colored a little, sheepishness creeping into his expression. "She was pissed." He shrugged a little beneath Aurelia, stopping his absent circle-tracing. "Obviously we broke up- she was more annoyed and angry than hurt, and admitted that she hadn't really felt- you know-" He waved a hand, looking to the ceiling again. "Like a couple in a long time, since we hadn't seen each other." He gave one final shrug, looking to Aurelia again with slightly narrowed eyes. "Is that what you were looking for?" He sounded a bit uncertain- it was true that she had asked for information, but was he stupid to explain to his current girlfriend how he had broken up with his ex?

The quotations in the air made her raise her eyebrows a bit as she watched him, eyes curious, and a bit suspicious. Was he accusing her of using a power on him? She didn't have any emotion powers, so she wasn't quite sure why he would think that... "That's not one of my powers, if that's what you're trying to insinuate." She laughed softly and pressed her nose to his cheek, shocking him a bit. "If you want to know the extent, just ask me, and I can tell. But I will tell you now that I have absolutely zero power over emotions." With a smirk, she sat back a bit, but stayed on her stomach, watching him intently. It was fun to mess around with him; even though he wasn't used to the whole demigod thing... It was nice. She liked having someone to actually talk about it, that wasn't a demigod themselves. She placed her hand on his chest gently and flopped onto her other arm, still looking up at him, but from a more downward angle.
When he explained what happened with Chelsea, she waited patiently for him to finish, before nodding slowly, understandingly. With a little tap of her finger on her chin, she continued to think for a moment before smiling and crawling up so her face was over his. "That's very unfortunate... For you and her, I mean. It's awesome news for me... I mean... I got a cool bracelet out of it..." She grinned coyly and kissed him after holding up her wrist to show off her nice bracelet he had bought her. When she pulled back for air-because it was pretty damn hard to pry her lips off his-she examined the bracelet again, before raising her eyebrows. "This isn't silver... This is white gold. You bought me white gold?" She sat up and fawned over the bracelet excitedly. "I have a boyfriend who bought me an expensive piece of jewellery... My frig, you're the best." With a quick beam at him, and a monumental flop back onto the bed, she wrapped her arms around him tightly and kissed him hard on the lips, before pulling away, still smiling. "And yes, that explanation was perfect for my archives. Thank you very much, Paul." Aftr a firm nod, she snuggled closer, slipping her knee between his own knees. "So. What do you want to start counting as our first date? Because technically, we haven't really gone on any, if you really think about it..." Aurelia wrinkled her nose in thought before biting the inside of her lip like she always did when she thought. .

The more agitated Aurelia became, the wider Paul grinned. He would have wrapped her more tightly in his arms, but she was skooching back again. The lack of his own baggage tagging along with the discussion of her powers felt somehow more distinct- he was pleasantly surprised to find that there was no sour note ringing in his head, or silent revulsion, like it had drained out of his system with his exposure to Scarlet's history lessons. The expression 'silence is deafening' crossed his mind once or twice.
As she crawled toward him, he tried to straighten his expression to one that was politely patient, though his mouth kept twitching at the corners. "It's such a shame, isn't it?" He murmured, just before she kissed him, her bracelet dangling near his face. At the very least he was able to enjoy that faint tingling of the current spawned by her powers, rather than be shocked and horrified by it. He trailed a hand through her long red hair, pausing to rest it lightly upon her neck until she pulled away again to stare at the bracelet, then proceeded to freak out. Paul shrugged quickly before she got her hands on him again, smiling widely. "Oh you know, I had some money saved up- you can consider it as making up for presents that I missed giving to you as a boyfriend, slash best friend. Or something like that." He flicked the charm hanging off of the bracelet.
"So. What do you want to start counting as our first date? Because technically, we haven't really gone on any, if you really think about it..."
"Well..." His brows rose as she clambered over him, wedging her knee in between his legs. He glanced down pointedly, then back to her face, touching his outstretched fingers to her chin as if to examine her. "This could be a good place to start," Paul let go, wrapping both arms around her waist to pull her closer, tipping his head slightly to the side, touching bare skin where her shirt had hiked up over the waist of her pants. "Or here..."
